You will need a new MAP sensor if you ever plan to boost over 10 psi or so. The stock MAP starts doing weird things right around ten pounds.

Nobody knows of a good tuner around the midwest region? I live in lincoln but will drive if I need too... my dilema is I wanted to do the work myself... but if I install the headgasket here at my shop I need to get from here to the tuner and from what you guys are telling me, driving the S there wont really be an option ESPECIALLY if the tuner is not REAL close. I planned on installing the turbo kit but not allowing it to supply any boost to the engine until I was at the tuners shop... anybody know how much inline pro OR a simular tuner shop would charge to install the head gasket on site before doing the dyno tune? I really would like to avoid this as I am trying to save money on installation by doing the work myself. Anybody have any ideas what I should do? And in what order? Thanks your help is great!

Checked several of the Midwest Forums today in search of a local tuner... about the only one I found is SpeedQuest Performance in Chicago, IL... That shop is located 517 miles away and being that Nebraska is the middle of nowhere and completely devoid of places such as performance shops, I am confident that is one of the closest places.

This being said, I think 500 miles is too far to drive the S on a base map wouldnt you agree? I could do all the work here and trailer the car to chicago, but I would like to avoid doing that if possible.

Anyone know of a closer tuner? Any ideas are welcome! Thanks for the posts and all the great info!

if you are looking for 400-450whp.. you def need bigger injetors.. maybe around 1000cc.. but you mite turn your car into a weekend think.. You will need a bigger fuel pump and oil pump.. maybe you should looking into port and polish your head.. that helps alot with spool up time.. mite also think about the rear end.. beefing it up a little.. i think the 400-450whp area is toward the high side with stock internals..

I think inline pro suggests 675cc-750cc injectors for the 400-500hp range... so i'll add a set of those to my list... anything else? also what size MAP sensor would you suggest / where should i get one? I also am having my Intake manifold welded and bored out to 70mm (a la sideways) to go along with my 70mm BDL TB... any ideas on tuners locally please post them or any other tips you may have... I'm also thinking about installing the Hondata intake gasket... is this a good mod? Any downsides?

I also want to add something else I have been thinking over... what size turbo do you suggest I get? GT35 or GT30??? I'm looking to max out at about 450hp or so and want the best performance up to this number... I know the GT30 spools faster but I don't know what its limits are... suggestions please!

From what i have read.. the hondata is not really needed... Like i said before .. you should look into a good Head job.. that would make your spool up time quicker.. i would go for a gt35.. with that turbo you can always be happy with

GT3076 for that power. A lot of guys go with the GT35, but it really is overkill for 450 HP. The GT3071 is just a bit too small, while the 3076 is perfect. For 400-450 rwhp, on equal boost levels, my GT3076 outperforms a GT35 until 8,400 RPM. And not just by a little....

I have been trying to read in the forums about turbo size options and was leaning towards the 3076 myself but was not sure it would support my final goal of 450whp! slim what numbers are you putting down and with what psi of boost? are you running stock internals with a headgasket? lemme know i'm interested to learn more... I assume your 3076 spools way faster than the larger gt35 does...

Both kits were run with a 2.25" exhaust (HKS Hi-Power). This exhaust is about the worst option out there for F/I. Sounds incredible for N/A, but muted and ultra-restrictive for F/I.

The GT35R dyno run was achieved on a boost pressure of 18 psi. The GT3076R on 19. Other than that, the kits are identical. Both kits on stock internals, both with the 3mm headgasket.

Opening up the exhaust would have a dramatic impact on both cars. I've been told an increase of 40+ rwhp is to be expected, not to mention a higher, flatter torque curve.

The spool up is pretty rediculous. I have positive pressure at 3,000 RPM and full spool somewhere around 4800RPM? A free flowing exhaust will likely chop 300-400 RPM off of both of those stats.
