Default Good Idea or Bad Idea

There is a guy that goes to the same shop as me that is selling his ap1 s2000 motor because he wants to try a V8 swap. It includes a full motor, transmission, and wire harness for $1500. The problem is he says it sounds like the motor is about to spin a bearing or it has rod knock, I honestly forgot but he said the head is fine. Would it be smart to buy this motor and build it then sell my current motor and have an extra transmission. My current motor is an ap1 has a stock bottom end (updated oil bolts) full supertech valvetrain (springs, ti retainers, valves) with an IP 3mm HG and ARP headstuds. I was thinking I could get the bottom end built and once that was done put my supertech head on it and keep it for my self and sell my current bottom end and the stock ap1 head as another set with or with out the IP 3mm HG installed. Since Inline pro is only 3 hours away I would take it there to get the bottom end built but the rest I would do myself. What do yall think?

That's a good deal if the tranny is in good condition and you are going to build the block anyway

See like a good deal, if you have the extra cash seems like a decent purchase. I don't think you would loose your money, you may even want to try and get it for less.

FWIW I sold a blown near complete F20 motor for $500, but that was a "friend price"

If it's complete, 1500 for everything is a decent price.

You could buy it, and part it out for way more than that.
