Default Greddy E85

Hi everyone,

Just thought I would share my experience on E85 fuel with the greddy kit, AEM EMS, Omni Map Sensor, 750cc Injectors etc.

Only drove the car for 15mins or so BUT WOW what a change! The car is completetly different, made very noticable HP and Torque. Before with the greddy kit at 10psi and was creeping badly, felt rather tame, now when you hit boost in 1st and 2nd the tyres lose traction with ease, didnt really have the opportunity to hit the higher gears as I am in a busy industrial area. Its running at about 14psi with no creeping at all. Cant wait to get some nice tyres and report back with how the car is in the twisties. Tuner said that there is a lot left and could easily tune to gain another 20-25kw but I would start to have to think about diff/transmission upgrades. Dont want to break anything yet!

Huge thank you to the boys down at Willall Racing, legends. I really do love my greddy kit now.

Heres the dyno, on a mainline which tends to read low compared to Dynojets and Dyno Dynamics but more importantly I can definitely feel the awesome power gain while driving it.

Cheers

Mark

So you have a stock greddy kit but with EMS, omni Map sensor and 750 cc injectors? Those are the only differences. How on earth are you running 14psi? I also am not sure how to transfer your power into wheel horsepower. What is a KW? Interestd in hearing a lot more on your set up and every change you made from the stock kit.

Yep, I have the stock greddy kit, with EMS, Omni map sensor, 750cc injectors and greddy profecB Spec 2 boost controller. I started with stock kit and made approx. 220hp on the mainline with a nasty dip at VTEC. Got tuned again this time with slighty higher psi and AEM EMS, boost controller and made 256hp on Mainline and around 300hp on dynamics.

EDIT: Forgot to add after my first dyno I was running on a 3" single exhaust with 3" HFC.

Everyone was saying that the T518z turbo was only good to 10psi on our engines, after Pming d-craft who works on the Cwest car, they were boosting much higher with a 3mm HG. We decided to go to 14psi on stock engine and made some nice gains. We can run to 14psi because it is tuned on E85 fuel which allows you to add timing and run more boost. Similar I guess in principle to running water/meth but this is I think easier and safer as you dont need anything other than E85 fuel, larger injectors and a tune.

KW is kilowatts. Basically kw x 1.341 = HP. I got dyno on a mainline and a dyno dynamics when I was at around 10psi, gave me approx 256hp on the mainline and 300hp on the dynodynamics. This time round I got approx 279hp on the mainline and as I guess maybe would see around 320-330 on the dynodynamics???

Cheers

dynologs must be pretty consistent... my dyno after tuning got me 255rwhp... I bet an extra 20+ hp feels nice...

here's my log for reference

Nice work Adl.

Can you get E85 where you are? What does it cost per litre (that's about a quart for you backwards folk).

Yeah we can get E85 fuel down here, but from only 2 stations with more coming once the fuel gets more popular. From Saff or Enffue stations. From memory I read something that said it was available in Syd from United?

I bought it a couple days ago and I recall it being $1.34 AUD a litre. On the day Unleaded was seeling for $1.57Aud

I pray it doesn't get more popular. You pay less for the fuel / gallon but it is less efficient so you will need to add 30-40% more and you pay more for grains and meat. I say do it right and more to LNG / Propane it is soooo much better.

the impressive thing ( for other greddy owners ) is that its holding 14psi to redline. Looks like the turbo might have a little more than 10psi in it afterall.
