Default Greddy Turbo

Gents:

Wondering if anyone has any experience with replacing the Greddy kit's turbo. Mine is kaput, due to oil starvation and I need to replace it. Greddy wants $2400 for a new one (just the turbo itself).

Thoughts?

Is the turbo rebuildable? How did it get oil starvation? How many miles were on it?

$2300 for the turbo alone is asinine. I can't even believe they had the balls to give you that quote. You could almost pick up a whole used turbo kit for that cost. I'd look around and see if you can fine something for sale, or take this opportunity to go with a different turbo:

They rebuilt mine for under $400. Did you send yours to them for an inspection?

I'd go with a GT3076R.

Rebuild it or step up to bigger turbo.
