Default Greddy Type-RS BOV Question

Ok When I switch gears I get the "whhooooooooopish" followed by the "rattlesnake" noise, I guess I have to turn the screw towards the "Softer" side, however when I turn that nut, it just loosens itself, or gets to a point until it is too tight to move, and nothing else moves. The BOV sounds the same, what the hell am I doing wrong? Do I have to take the BOV off and do it?

Are you adjusting the screw with an allen wrench one the lock nut is loose?

If so, then try checking the nipple on the BOV itself. Mine was somewhat loose so I removed it and placed teflon tape on the threads to get a better seal.

You should not hear any surge noise once you have it calibrated right. Mine still surges when the engine is COLD but once it warms up, I get a nice clean BOV sound.

I basically unscrewed it all the way, until It fell in the engine bay, but I recovered it after 10 mins of looking . Basically it is as "Soft" as it will, go any softer and the bolt will fall out, hope that setting is fine, sounds great, nice and smooth.

I don't really race on the street but as I was "testing" my new BOV setting one of the new Infiniti G37 type S pulls up next to me then hits I hit it and to my sad surprise I really didn't make much ground, didnt lose any either. Light ahead turns Red, he more then willingly pulls to the right so he can have the right lane, I will take the left. ----a few weeks ago before I was Turbo, I lost to one of these things, raced the guy twice and both times into 3rd gear the G37 walked away------So now heart is starting to pound slightly, after all this is my first "race" after the Turbo, so light turns green, he jumps off the line, myself being ridiculously scared to break anything, start off very normal off the line, as if I was not going to race, when I get in 1st gear, I hit it, Tires spin, I finally get grip as I switch into 2nd, by this time he is half a car ahead of me, we are pretty even due to my poor driving skills until around 60mph, or early 3rd and I take off, and I mean I pull away very easy (my car was backfiring & bogging slightly as I switched gears), so I decided enough is enough around 111mph, I slow, he flies by, but gives me the two honks Can't wait to get rid of my cat and get a tune, hopefully I won't need 3 gears to beat a high 13 second car

Sounds like your having fun with the car. The other day a heavily modded WRX was next to me on the freeway and took off. I left it in 6th while he downshifted. We were even up to 120 when I decided to let off since I'm not tuned. He gave me the thumbs up as did I.

Yeah, Its funny mostly all I have to do it bring it up to 5,000RPMS, let the BOV do its thing, and bam.........smiles form the other drivers and a friendly thumbs up . I just ordered the CR Side markers, and some Silver "S2000" Caliper stickers as I will paint the calipers black, then clear coat them, the OEM Front lip is also on its way I am very happy with how the car is coming along. Can't wait for the summer Start going to some car shows

Of course when I am all done, & Tuned I will probably wish I went the InlinePro Way . Next up mod wise will be clutch and Flywheel, then hardtop for the Fall.

Saw a Red S2000 with Dealer plates on a flatbed this afternoon, somebody went out for a Test Drive and lost control of the poor thing..........ahhhhhhh Spring is almost here
