Which head gasket?
As per title, I'm looking at a car with FI, but the head gasket has gone, it's pressurising the cooling system.
If I get it and I skim the head, should I go for the 1.1mm cosworth head gasket?
I don't want to raise the compression by having a head skim and then using a standard thickness oem gasket, but I know the quality of the oem is fantastic.
I'm not getting a cometic one, that's been ruled out, too many failures, but Ive done a search and can't really find anything comparing the standard vs cosworth?
The cars running about 400+ bhp. Any advice would be great, as I'm looking to move cars ASAP...
Thanks, dan

You may want to consider just swapping the motor with one that has less miles on it. You're taking out the motor to machine the deck, depending on how much all the machine work is going to cost you it may be in the ballpark of a fresher engine.
I'm not sure how much that machine work would cost you but I can imagine its not cheap. After you could sell the old motor to offset the cost of the newer one.

Every time Ive had a head skim it's always raised the compression ratio slightly, this is always gonna put it closer to the detonation brink, theres the option to up the power to 500 so thought the slightly reduced comp ratio of the cosworth one would be better?
