Default Head gasket for turbo

Need advise for head gasket size. 2mm or 3mm? i have a 2006 S2k that im planning to turbo charge. i heard most of the guys using 3mm but my mechanic (Eric Aguilar from Erick's Racing) told me 3mm is to big and told me 2mm is good. he is a well know drag racer and specialize in Hondas. what do you guys think?

They will both work but who knows for how long. If u wanna make 500 whp and under then keep ur stock head gasket IMO.

keep your stock HG and let the car make what it makes. OR, build it and swing for the fences.

The consensus seems to be Inline Pros 3mm or Cometic 2mm though the SCE gasket seems to also be holding well and they have completed the Titan ICE version finally.

I would also recommend that you stud the head, it will offer any more support over the factory bolts but the convenience factor is huge and they are reusable for maybe even a hundred of torque cycles.

What I have found is that most of the gaskets fail due to preignition or detonation so make sure that the tuner spends plenty of time in the mid range and topend getting the timing right on the dyno.

the main purpose of the thicker head gasket is to lower the compression ratio which will reduce the chance of detonation, so the thicker head gasket is a must for turbo. just wondering if a 3mm gasket is overkill.

Unless you want to deal with this every few thousand, stick with Stock
