Which header are you using with your highboost sc?

Default Which header are you using with your highboost sc?

Hi gentlemen. I ordered a CTSC and will be running 12-13psi. At the moment I have a DC header on the car(shhh...it was on the car when I purchased it)...also a Berk 70mm hfc and a Greddy SE dual(70mm into dual 60mm) sitting here waiting to go on. I have been searching but found very little first-hand information about headers on higher boost setups...mostly "If I had a sc I'd keep my Oem header" or "My friends brothers gf's dads coworker said he heard blah blah blah is the best..."
I'm only looking for replies from members with 10psi+ setups, either with an aftermarket header you spcifically chose for your setup or researching for your next header. And please don't link to the ***Official header thread*** because it's all N/A talk in there and the specs on some of the headers that are posted are wrong/outdated. Also looking to buy a new header...not to wait for an old header that hasn't been made in years to pop up in the classifieds in a year from now.

So for now I'm leaning towards T1R(44pri/55sec/65coll). T1R recommends it for high comp builds and sc's...and looks to have the largest secondaries and collector out there, plus it's fairly cheep. Is it really that easy?...or is there some other sleeper header out there that is better suited for sc setups?(Please no Berk) Thank you for your input in advance! - Jeremiah

You probably won't like this, but stock is fine. I'd swap the hfc for a test pipe though.

This summer I'm planning on doing a before and after dyno with Urge designs Unicorn prototype header. I've had a supercharged Hytech header on order since last April, but I think I'm going to end up canceling the order.

Unfortunately... I've had a lot to do on the car, and got sidetracked on another project. so I didn't necessarily mind the wait time. But now that it's getting close to being finished I've got to figure something out. I don't want to have the car sitting on jackstands for another year.

I'm not really looking for a "fine" header though. I've seen a lot of guys that make decent power with the stock header and/or cat and/or exhaust. But I'm looking to get rid of any weak links I can while keeping the car legal and quiet...hense the hfc and Greddy SE.

If I planned on going FI a year ago...I would of considered a custom piece...but I just can't wait months/year for a header to be made. The Urge piece sounds promising...but don't have a production piece out yet(to my knowledge).

i swapped out my DC header for a spoon header. my butt dyno seemed to like it lol.. i haven't dynoed it yet tho... but it seemed to breath better since it leaned out the tune and we had to add more fuel. also sounded a lot deeper.

i'm at 12 psi btw with a low comp motor (3.8" pulley)

I've been boosted for 10+ years with a Vortech. Currently running a Laskey racing engine with 8.5:1 compression, reworked head with oversized valves and a larger intake. Boosting 1.5+ bar and seeing 500+ rwhp at 9650 rpm with the Hytech supercharger header. I've coupled that with a 3" Asura dual stainless steel cat back exhaust. I also have a Vibrant Technologies resonator installed in the test pipe.

My original move from factory header to Toda header made a big difference. Going from the Toda to the Hytech made a big difference again.

Get the best you can and enjoy it. When something else comes along that is a big improvement sell the old and get the new.

Thanks Sideways. I have a chance to grab a used Invidia realllly cheap...but the specs of the T1R are really appealing and I don't know if I'm willing to sacrifice power just to save some money. I'm about to flip a coin lol.
