Help! BOV Excessive Oil dripping out
Hi,
Had my Vortech kit on since this past Summer and loving it except for one thing....
I'm getting what I think is excessive amounts of oil coming out of the BOV on a regular basis. I installed the Supra PCV with the stock PCV but that did nothing. Drove it today and kept the rpms under 6 and still feel the need to wipe up the splash guard of the oil after a drive.
I did some searches and there is plenty of talk about using Krank Vents to help with oil consumption and/or dipstick popping but what about this issue? Is it normal with this kit? If so just wish I knew this before going ahead with it otherwise I would not have. I'm really getting fed up.
Looks like I'll need to go with a catch can and assume it should be on the PCV side. Anyone have any other ideas? Could there be an issue with something else?
The car runs great and is making 300rwhp at 6.6 psi.
Thanks.

where is your supra PCV setup? does it run from the valve cover to the intake plenum, or from the valve cover to the intake inlet?
if you have just a standard hose running from your crankcase breather to the intake piping that is likely your source of the oil. while this is not necessarily a bad thing for your blower it can definitely tend to dirty things up a bit.
running a catch can inline will help, but running to a catch can and then capping the inlet pipe SHOULD eliminate the oil altogether.
on the more pessimistic side of things, you could check the gasket on your blower itself. not a big deal to change, but certainly more work than a simple hose coming off your breather!

Just 700 miles. They need replacing so soon....? Maybe they are defective. Anyone heard of this?
Thanks everyone for their insight this is really driving me nuts. I can't enjoy it like this. I did high speed with it the other day (120) but not again until this problem is fixed. There was oil all over the place.

Take the pipe off the compressor going to the aftercooler and check if there is oil in there. If this is the case then you probably have a defective unit. Are you experiencing any loss in power? If so it could be severe blow by from the motor, which could be bad news.

If it's not the blower then what could be causing the excessive blow by? Only 20k miles on the car.
Thanks for the idea, seems logical.

A broken ring/ringland could cause blowby or a very bad pcv valve. Try testing the pcv valve by blowing through it/sucking through it.
Also you may just need an oil catch can or to route a line from the valve cover to below the car...
I got a LOT of oil in my intake and piping and it was all because of the line routed from the valve cover to the intake of my turbo..
