Default hi hp guys and traction?

I am planning to get tuned this spring. i am shooting for 600+ whp (gt40 journal bearing and e85). how is traction at those power levels? should i run boost by gear or will i be fine with just street slicks? i also plan to run r888 for street tires. im mostly going to do highway runs until my diff blows so highway traction is my only concern for right now and i dont usually launch my car. it would be nice to hook on the highway because i dont want the power to be useless. any suggestions would be great!

thanks

I did the vast majority of my tuning on the highway in 3rd/4th gears; no issues with traction at the 585whp level (I'm using Mickey Thompson Drag Radials 255/50/r16 (26" tire))

Boost by gear or MPH, and a good set of drag radials.

Same as a couple other guys here, michey thompson 255-50-16 on oem wheels (525whp gt4088r on e85) and they did really well for me on the street and amazing at the track, good enough to brake 2 clutches from hooking lol

boost by gear/mph will also help save your trans. The R888's are a pretty good tire

hoosier makes a 245/45/17 DR . there is also an 18" drag radial that is narrower but i don't remember the size

buddy has the r888 and says they spin pretty easily on highway (hes about at 550whp)

i will tell you my mt et streets hook amazingly well. really all comes with a price though, i doubt they will last me long.

boost by gear or speed im sure would help you out the most for the long run vs keep going through tires
