High Boost pulley for AP2's
I contacted Comptech today regarding a high boost pulley option for an AP2. I was told that a high boost option doesn't exist for AP2 cars.
However, I noticed a few vendors on the board selling high boost pulleys for AP2s. What gives
Do any of you know if it's safe to run a high boost pulley on an AP2. Better yet...is anyone here doing so? I'm assuming that in order to do so safely, some type of dyno tuning would be necessary. But, would that be enough??? I have read that a few AP1's are running a high boost pulley with just an adjustment to the FPR. If I step into high boost, will it be just as easy on an AP2? Or, am I also looking at injector swaps, stand alone fuel managment, etc... to maintain drivability?

The AP2 is already running a higher boost pulley (smaller diameter) than the AP1 due to the lower redline.
If you increase the boost by buying a smaller pulley on an AP2, you will have to make adjustments to the FPR on the comptech unit. This will require tuning and most likely require a "piggy back" Fuel management to do it.
Depending on how much boost you want to have you will also as you stated need to upgrade the injectors so that they are not working at full capacity.
Silvers2k was running an AP2 with a 9 or 10lb pulley and he was not able to run it. It was too lean and I remember the thread were he had to limp the car to the dyno to get it tuned with EMS.
If your going to up the boost on either AP1 OR AP2... I recommend that you do it right and go with at least E-manage and larger injectors with a tune.
JMHO.
