I am going up to 12.5-13lbs of boost on my VTSC. The last and final (i hope) part of this build should be the BOV. Two questions:

1. Will the stock VTSC BOV adjust up to 13psi?

2. Does the HKS SSQV universal bolt up to the aftercooler?

if the answer is no and no. What BOV have some of you guys used? TIA

the stock one should be just fine.

 

I am running a SOS kit and going a bit more boost than you, although on e85. The stock bov we have is a plastic bosch valve. I wasn't sure I'd its capabilities for high boost, but have been reassaured that it will be fine, even and 15psi.

yes, you can change the BOV on centrifugal chargers: rotrex, vortech, comptech, etc.

 

is it just plug and play or is there some kind of modification i need to do?

 

I'm not sure which bov are compatible with which chargers, but typically they just have to weld on a flange so that you can attach the bov to the mounting surface that is provided. There are quite a few threads on the topic. It isn't too hard for most shops to make the flange.

 

so how do you adjust for the proper boost level on the stock BOV. mind you I am in Iraq and cant go look. I am just tryin to figure it all out so I can get right to work when I get home.

 

I've run the Vortech bov over 1.5 bar without dire results.

You will be fine below one bar (14.5 psi) of boost with the Vortech supplied bov.

If it was set correctly initially you won't need to adjust it.

 

Are there other BOV's that can directly bolt onto the Vortech aftercooler?
