High RPM use w/vtec disabled
During a long 5 hour commute today (and random thoughts) it struck me that my tuner has VTEC engagement set only when in boost. I road-race my car and running the Novi 1200 blower. When not in boost (e.g. partial throttle or off throttle), am I damaging the valvetrain by having the low-cam spin as high as 8500 RPM?
I think I remember reading somewhere that it wasn't recommended to run the low-cam/rocker at high RPMs for extended use. Can anyone confirm?
Edit: Flashpro documentation states
Do not set the VTEC switch point too high as the high speed rocker arm will float on the lost motion spring and damage the valve train. As a guide do not set the VTEC point higher than 6500 rpm.

OK I see what happened. Just took a closer look at the calibration and he lowered the MAP at 6700 to allow VTEC to engage off boost.
RPM 3000 5600 6200 6500 6700
MAP 1.200 1.150 1.100 1.000 0.850
VTEC RPM WINDOW: Lower-3400 Upper-6000
I think I'm good
