uhhh....if you are going with a piston that's good for boost you are dropping the compression. You drop compression with pistons/your head cc not rods.

How would lower compression work out with the stock ECU? I was wondering what would happen if you ran the car with a 2mm HG and a stock ECU.

I think it would run okay...you would just be down on quite a bit of HP. It would probably be like running around in a 150HP S2000.

Anyone else wanna chime in here? I'd like a second opinion.

You could run cheap gas with that setup.

hehe...he's right. No need for the good stuff! In other words, we're not recommending you do a head gasket BEFORE you're ready to go FI because the car is going to run like arse.

No, I was just wondering if it would even run with the stock ecu... i'm not really looking to mod the car to be slower. I was just thinking ahead so if I were to install a 2mm gasket and then took off the turbo setup I wanted to know if it would run with the stock ecu and lower compression. It might be good for the resale value if I can advertise that you could run my s2k with 87.

It should run fine with 9 or 9.5:1 compression and only loose 10 or 15 hp. It will be a little less with 8:1 but should still run ok. Don't try to tow any loaded horsetrailers at the lower compression.
