Default HKS vs SOS Stage 2 Superchager

I’m very conflicted at this time. I plan to supercharge my 2004 S2000 and tune with AEM infinity, but am conflicted between which supercharger kit to run with. I’m honestly only looking for around 350 whp at most, but would prefer a more reliable setup that can be a viable option for track use. I plan to run an oil cooler, And I have a Koyo rad currently. If I run the SOS kit I was gonna opt for the upgraded heat exchanger. I’ve heard great things about the true and tried SOS kit which im leaning to currently, but I would like to hear y’alls experience which each kit because research is free. Appreciate it!

You are on the right track. You wont get any conflicting info from experienced people on this forum when regarding SOS and best reliability.

I've been running the sos kit for 7 years. The only component to fail was a wideband o2 sensor. Ap1 3.2" pulley and upgraded heat exchanger. Stock engine, radiator, oil system, etc.

That's not even part of the SOS kit.

HKS is more money than the SOS and doesn’t have the same power potential from what I’ve been reading. Plus I don’t really get their charge piping....The blower is sitting to the passenger side and the piping is more or less passing over the exhaust manifold on the way to the intercooler....Not sure what’s going on there when every other kit positions the blower in front of the block.

Certain cars run it but i just feel it’s for a “JDM vibe” or Evasive’s car showcasing various JDM vendors like Voltex, Toda, HKS, etc. SOS seems like the absolute best route to go for a supercharger right now.

As a SOS and Comptech fan and a customer... as silly as HKS design might seem... that ball of lead in the front of the car over the front axle doesn't help. Then you add all the piping, aftercooler, coolant, heat exchager, water pump, wiring and so on.

At the end of the day, maybe that HKS blower does make sense especially if you swain coat that header. Just saying.
