sand it and work ur way up to 2000 grit and it will give nice shine

are you sure??? It feels heavier than aluminum. Also it has a spot of rust on it... I am almost 94.6% sure mine isn't aluminum. The newer ones may be aluminum but this is one of the originals from Comptech.

The ones I've seen are aluminium. The early one I've seen broken was clear anodized.

That one has rubber mounting bushings, so it's not one of the 1st gen brackets.

Put a magnet on it. If it sticks it's steel, if it doesn't it's aluminum.

If it's steel or magnetic stainless you better get something on it to prevent it from rusting.

The last Comptech car I worked on had Aluminium brackets

My bracket is aluminum painted black.

BTW, thanks to the OP for the strap wrench tip on swapping pulleys... I used vice grips + the old belt to get a similar result!



The 7# pulley + BKR7E plugs are amazing. I should have done it years ago.
