How does going Turbo effect handling and drive
I did a search but it seems no one has really shared their feelings or experiences on how going turbo in an S2000 changes the car. I guess besides pushing you into the seat harder what other things are there to look out for when you go turbo.
If you have a steady power curve will it drive pretty much the same just faster? Or is it more unstable without a lot of other supporting mods (coilover and wheels/tires)
The reason I ask is I love the S2000 and I've been very loyal to Honda since I started driving about 10 years ago. I had a T3/T4 setup in my '99 Civic SI but FWD is a whole different animal than RWD as you all know. I now want to purchase one and I'm deciding whether to go Turbo in this car or "sell out" and get an EVO or STI
I love turbo but I just want to make sure I get the right car for my driving style. I think S2000 can do this for me.
I am about 3-4 months away from purchasing my 07 S2000 (Hopefully I'll be able to find a good deal on a GPW new at that time.) and I'm planning on learning to drive the car and then get either an inline and e-manage or greddy kit about 5-6 months after.
Any insight into this would be appreciated!

As long as you have a nice set of tires, traction should be fine. Granted I have no first gear (its useless) but I can floor it in any other gear (assuming its semi-warm and not wet) without traction issues so you shouldn't have a problem either.
If you plan to turbo I'm pretty sure you should avoid the 07, I don't think anyone has developed a work around for the throttle by wire system. You should still be able to find a new 06 at a decent discount.
Thanks for the replies! I think I'm going to be getting the S2000 for sure I only hope that I can find a GPW '07 in my area! And I'm ok with the dbw I'm sure they will find a solution. I'm not looking for a crazy FI setup either I'm out to make a killer daily driver like my Si used to be. I'll enjoy the weekends but with a nice Greddy setup it'll almost be like it was made that way I hope.
I don't mind waiting for GReddy to get their act together on 07 because I think I'll probably be best served by doing some Workmeisters and maybe some N1s first then worry about power!
I hope to get about 320rwhp on the greddy kit eventually... that's about as far as I want to take the power.

The nice thing about the turbo is that you can get stock power as early as 5500 rpms or so, even less depending on your setup. You can still do all the things you did before, and keep it safe by keeping the revs down and only pushing it when you feel comfortable
