Default How to keep boost at 8-9#'s

I have a 38mm wastegate and am wondering if that will keep boost down to around 8-9 with a 60-1 turbo from inline pro??

That wastegate has a 7 pound spring I believe. You can probably boost 8 consistently, but if you want to go more than 8 you'll need a boost controller I think since you're using the e-manage. The EMS lets you set the boost though

Sorry bro its just out of my price range right now. I need to find gaskets and hoses and other misc.. stuff to get it going firtst and then I will settle in to bumping up the head gasket size and a full on EMS. I'll be by around noon tomorrow if thats cool to pick up those injectors.

Yeah man no worries - the EMS is actually pending to someone so I wasn't trying to get you to buy it - I just put the smiley there for fun

How far off are you over-boosting to right now? You can try to go with a lower rate spring and that might help you.

I carry the Tial 44mm and have used it and the 46mm for a while now and they control boost very well. You would need to get either and adapter flange or weld the 44mm flange on there and then make a new dump tube.

What are you using to control timing btw? Maybe your timing tables are a tad too retarded.

The kit isn't on the car yet. I am just trying to be as cautious as I can before the install. Which will be in the middle or end of march. I am running a greddy emanage blue with the boomslang adapter. I just don't want boost creep getting over the 9.5# mark.

If 9psi is what your looking for I would go with a 7psi Wastegate spring. Dyno the car and see where the spring ends up at. A 7psi spring could be 6,7,8 maybe even 9psi. After finding out where the spring is I would get a boost controller and adjust from there. As stated earlier in the post if the wastegate spring gives you 8 psi that is the lowest you will be able to go. Your wastegate spring dictates your lowest boost setting your boost controller can adjust up. I would recommend a manual boost controller much easier to use than ANY EBC

manifold design.....if the exhaust gases have to turn 90 deg. or greater that really hurts the flow to the WG....

so if the manifold is designed well, it shouldn't be a problem with a 38mm......
