Default How to remove inline pro log manifold

Hey guys,

Does anyone have experience removing a log manifold inline pro turbo. I think my turbo seals are shot and wanted to determine how hard it would be to remove the manifold/turbo and send it to precision. It seems that the turbo blocks the engine mount screw. Are you suppose to remove the turbo housing to get to that screw?

Thanks

Granted, it's been a while since I last installed an ILP kit (~6-7 years), but I recall removing the compressor housing in order to install/remove the manifold/turbo.

Herecomesboost is correct. You will have to remove the compressor housing first and then the turbo center cartridge. After that the turbine housing and manifold will come right off.

Great thanks for both your post. So to remove the turbo housing, I should have enough room underneath the car to get to it without having to drop the subframe or something else? I also was gonna try to install an oil restrictor to see if that can help but it looks like the only way to get to the turbo feed would be removing the manifold.

You won't have to drop the subframe to reach the six bolts that hold the compressor housing to the CHRA (center cartridge). Once you remove the compressor housing, you should have a better angle to reach the oil feed.

Hey I know this is a month old......but I'm doing the same thing as the OP, but can't seem to figure out what kind of bolts are holding the turbo to the manifold. They seem to have 2 locks you can remove, and a Alan key in the middle. They look 12 sided. Any ideas in safe removal?

Can you post a pic? It would be easier to remove the compressor housing--->CHRA--->then remove the exhaust housing(turbine housing)/manifold. Once removed, you'll be able to determine what size wrench/socket is needed to remove the bolts.

Yea from what I read and have been told, you need to remove the compressor housing (6 bolts) to get to the engine mount. I sent my turbo to DirectTurbo to have a new CHRA installed since mine took a $hit. Hopefully I have the car back up next week.
