How to wash a turbo engine bay?

I disagree. High pressure water will overcome the seals and boots on the electrical connectors. Low pressure water will not. The connections under your hood are designed to be driven in harsh weather all the cars life. Don't be afraid to hose them off. Now don't go topping off the radiator fluid through the air filter.
Come hang out at my food plant on a Monday morning and see the damage a pressure washer can do to electronics.

Don't know. Probably because they don't have to use chemicals to cut the grease. There are lots of regulations on what can go down the drain. I think we both agree that there is no reason to sit there with the hose for 20 minutes straight, but spraying the engine bay won't hurt it. I did assume you meant a high pressure washer when you said high pressure.
^^Fair enough. I should have been more clear on what pressure I meant. I wouldnt use an actual pressure washer because that is just too much pressure, but something that restricts tap water flow and ups the pressure some to help clean stubborn stuck on grime will help and is fine. Those pressure washers at the local car washes work pretty good also. They have about as much pressure behind them as a wand with a pressure wash end used on a garden hose does.
You can use a damp cloth or microfiber to clean delicate stuff.
Use a spray degreaser to break down the tough dirt and grease.
You can also use a vacumm to get any loose dirt and sand that gets in there.
Little paint brushes help for small places if your really into detailing.
And plastic and rubber you can use trim restorer to make it look really nice.
Then a spray detailer to clean it all up.

Thank you all for your replies and your tips
Although up to know i was using pressure washer keeping the pressure pistol far from the engine bay for some reason i feel scared now i have the turbo to use it. Most possible i will go with a damp cloth.
Is just is not so easy to reach areas where the compination of light foam degreaser and light pressure washer can go and remove the dirt.
