Default Hp Performance Turbo Kit

This looks very promising, reminds me of Mase's Kit.

I like the locations of everything. It keeps you from having to relocate the fuse box, battery, AC lines or anything. Looks nice!

A member on the board runs this kit, however, I don't recall their username

Madjdm is correct. Search for 03silver2000. IIRC at some point there were some issues with fitment and clearance in a few spots with the IC pipes.

That would be me.

Their customer service is COMPLETE CRAP. If you can get the turbo kit IN HAND before your pay them, then go for it. Its not a kit that requires NO modification, as their site suggests. The brace behind the driver's side headlight needs to be cut for the IC pipe, and a few other things. The coolant overflow also needs to be relocated. I did mine like InlinePro, but it has to be custom-welded, as IP does not make a relocation kit, they do all theirs custom as well. And there were no injector clips included in the kit (I had to get them to mail me some, but they did not want to pony up the $20 extra for the PNP clips, so I got the pigtailed ones that I had to cut/solder into the OEM harness).

I will see if I can find what needed modification in my epic thread... I had QUITE a time getting everything to work right (they even shipped me the wrong EMS the first time).

A lot of my issues were due to me being an FI noob, though, and can be worked around.

A few pieces of advice... Do not tap the engine girdle where the DIY on here tells you to, as its REALLY close to the V-band connection on the header. Tap the oil pan, up high, and in the rear 1/2 to avoid any clearance issues for the oil drain.

My kit came with 75% of the bolt hardware incorrect (turbo mounting bolts were wrong length, as were the downpipe bolts). Not expensive, but kind of a PITA to have to go out and get the new ones. The V-band T-bolt clamps were all QUALITY parts, though, and were all correct ($40+ each from Clampco).

Here is a pic of mine now. The kit actually comes with a CAI, so the turbo location is not bad (it would actually not be bad at all if you had a cooling plate over the radiator, or a vented hood).

Bottom line is that it is a quality kit, but getting it took me almost 2 months from the time I paid in full, and about two more weeks to get the "correct" parts (EMS, injector clips, etc.), and almost to the 5 month mark when I finally got the turbo exhaust housing. From the date I paid, it was always "it will ship in a few days." I cannot remember the guy I ended up dealing with, but he was actually pretty good. Nathan was a lying sack of crap. I hope for the shop's sake he is not in their sales dept anymore...

I ended up putting down 335/205 on a conservative tune, running ONLY 7.5psi with this kit on an otherwise stock motor. I am waiting to get tuned on my Laskey motor currently (had to get some body work done).

If you got any questions, let me know. I got the gt35r upgrade...

And 03silver2000 only used their header / downpipe. He made is IC pipes himself. I helped him through his issues as well (the downpipe did not have flanges on it, etc.)...

OH! And the kit does NOT come with ANY plumbing for coolant. Nathan advised me to not run it, as the ball bearing turbos did not need it... All my lines are custom aeroquip steel braided (required, IMO, as it gets REALLY close to the header/downpipe...). They did provide a steel braided oil supply, and a standard oil drain line (but they gave me the wrong turbo drain hardware for the drain... go figure... they shipped me 1/2" fittings, and 3/4" drain line).

I really like the intercooler, but I wish they made it fit better than it does.

I already have an IP kit, and was just curious. Sounds like those guys are a POS. Interesing to here, I am interested to see some more of Mase's kits, I like the front mount turbo it seems to be a good alternative to some of the other methods.
