Here is a quick update.

I got all of the parts back from my welder. To my surprise, everything still lined up. Once I had it all bolted up, I started it up for the first time. The first time I started it up, the motor quickly jumped to 4,000 rpm and stayed. After talking with Mark about the possible causes, Mark suggested that I plug the idle air control valve. Doing this would be an indicator that the valve was letting too much air in. I tried it and immediately the idle dropped down to 1,800 rpm until it warmed up, then down again to around 1,000 rpm.

Here is a quick video of the car running.

Neat project. I am not going to quite go this route but have been busy getting the TVS 900 which is just a plain old direct swap for the MP62. Was going to order it as soon as Magnussen got back to me.

It will not move air like the 1320, but at least in Elises, the outlet temps from the tvs 900 are 60+ degrees lower than the MP62 and allow the Elise guys to get about 20 more hp than they were with the Mp62's.

The MP62 was just putting out too much heat when outside temps were in the 90's and the car would heatsoak and become a complete dog if the AC was on. Now going to see what difference a TVS makes myself. I want to ceramic coat the header and put a Naca in the hood, but I am down to one car until October so can't have any downtime.

If you think you can put out conversion kit for SOT's for a 1320, I might be interested.

nice, cant wait to see the results. 20 hp and more consistent temps would be nice. the tvs1320 though, man that would be sick!

Is your intake routed through the firewall or are you just running only a throttle body in this video?

Eaton's site lists a TVS 1050 which sit in between the TVS 900 and the 1320 but I could not find anyone that makes it. I think eaton makes the rotating assemblies and the people like Magnussen and Harrop make the casings. So you can get a 900 from Magnussen but no one that I could find makes a 1050. If that would be more powerful than the MP62 and the TVS 900 I would look into it because it would probably fit easier. If I ran a 1320 I would run less boost because 450 at the wheels would get me into handcuffs or a casket.

Not sure the $2k I just dropped getting a clutch upgrade would hold what a 1320 would make either. Then the diff, and axles........ Sounds fun though.

For my application, I simply ran the intake piping through the firewall. It provided a nice barrier from the hot air inside the engine bay.

All of the inlet piping was off when I made the video.
