I just mailed my manifold back to full-race, they ae going to replace it with one with the correct tb diameter for free. only had to chump up $550 for the new tb and hopefully that will be the end of the problems for me.
Okay, here we go, this is my friend Matts' first attempt at the Hypertune install. Only to be beat by no throtle cable bracket and later to find out, wrong TB.
Sorry about how dirty things are, Matt did a lot of cleaning as he went and before he put it back to stock.
removed the fuel rail and injectors (should disconect fuel pump and run car till it dies to releave most of the presure in the fuel lines)
your going to want new O-rings when you go to put these back in
okay there are going to be THREE brackets of death as i have come to call them as they are going to be the bain of your existance when you go to take off the manifold. For the first one (closest to the front) You have to remove the belt and then take out the top alternator bolt so you can push it out of the way. as so...
and after some bloody knukles you get this... there were four bolts, two facing up and another two into the block.
The second bracket (in the middle) is not as bad as the first but it wasn't easy. I had to leran some positions i didn't know i was capable of to get a socket down in there. but thats how it looks underneeth.
The third bracket is more of an inssue when trying to get the intake physically out, we had to pull back pretty hard on it and was able to get the clearance to remove the intake.
Now comes the ECT which shouldn't have been hard to get out but we somehow managed to snap it in two during the process.
we ended up using a screw to pull the broken peice out of the terminal once the intake was out...
heres the intake off, again sorry its so dirty, this is the first time this area has seen light in a long time, its all nice and shinny now i promise.
stock and not...
Hondata gasket
and now the moment we were waiting for...
It looked so nice. And then my dad came out side to see, and i quote "looks awsome, does the hood close?" and that was the end of our joy as we came to find out that it did not. Again you would have thought that Full Race or Hypertune would have warned the public that there were going to be fitment issues. The intake itself hit by about a 1/4 in. Then realizing that the TB still had to go on and the MAP sensor sits 1in higher than that, we had to halt all opperations and have a nice phone call with full race. As you now know the intake was sent back to get the throttle cable bracket welded on, and then sent back again to get the larger bore plenum to match the Hypertune TB I had to buy with the MAP sensor relocated on the bottom.
Now we play the waiting game for it to come back... the install should take half the time seeing as we did not put those brackets back in.
I'll repost pics when it comes back and then you can all see a working hypertune intake not just a teaser.
They did tell us that we were going to have to trim some of the webbing under the hood AFTER we called them and complained. They also should have mentioned you HAVE to get their TB or it won't fit.

I apologise for the trouble you are having with the installation of your IM. This is not an excuse, but we never intended the manifold to be used with the factory TB, and hence did not check clearance. Geoff asked me to supply some with the factory style flange, and I did so without considering the fitment issues.
I will do whatever I can to make sure these problems are fixed for you. We are going through some growing pains at the moment, learning about supplying bolt on components rather than the custom work we are used to.
Geoff and I are working on making the product as easy as possible for the DIY user to install, and I hope you can bear with me during this process.
I understand with the mix ups, it was just really frustrating to get it on and then realize it didn't work, full race should have my intake back and now i'm just waiting for the bigger bore plenum and tb from you guys. i can't wait to get it back and get it on the car cause then the turbo kit can go in.
