As you guys know, I have had a few problems with the drivetrain of the S. The diff broke on me first, then I busted seconf gear on the tranny due to a grind on the track. The the reduction gear busted on me on the hwy(nothing i could do about that). So , pending the sale of my motor, turbo and 3rd new tranny, I am going to put an LS2 V8 with a turbo in my s2000. This will cost just about as much as it did to turbo the S. I will Keep you guys posted if and once i Start the project. Hopefully all this work will end the weak drivetrain problems and 9 seconds wll be the goal.

I saw a thread on an LS forum of a guy already putting an LS1 into an S2K.

 

Why not just buy a used vette or camaro...sell the S ?

 

So is that how you do it? You just go around your whole life trying to take the easy way out... geeze. He wants a drag car, and by god, he's gonna do it with an S2000. If he keeps breaking stuff, he'll keep replacing it, and eventually, if everything goes right, some piece of an S2000 will be on a fast drag car.

I almost bought a 2002 vette b4 i got my S. insurance was almost 500$ a month. cheapest i could find. I didnt even know what an S2000 was. I started test driving other 2-seaters like the 350 and solstice and others. I just happen to see an S2000 online and i liked it a little and said to myself i should drive it. i went to the dealership and fell in love when i seen it. the are so rare compared to other cars. i hardly ever see an s2000 and they can be so fast. I just love the body line of the car. so i think i want to make her a transvestite. Man Parts, girl bbody

 

well i would have no prob with the S motor. After talking to IP about how weak the tranny is (the reduction hear especially) i dont see paying 6-8k for a tranny when i can do a full v8 turbo swap for that. yeah it may be a little work but i think it will be cool to have something a little different. this may not happen, depending on if i can sell my motor and tranny

 

Probably the same guy that used to post here, claiming he had an LS1 in his S. AlexF20C I believe his name was? He was repeatedly exposed as being full of BS over here.

 

You must REALLY love the s2k body to that kind of a swap ! Id just buy a different car all together ...but thats just me . Different strokes for different folks i suppose ! As for the ls1 into an s2k, i saw pics somewhere of that swap, so i dont think its bullshit unless there is photoshop at work.
