S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

I keep losing bolts like an 82 Buick help!

Hey SgtB this stage 8 stuff looks pretty cool and looks like it will at least solve our problem with the manifold to turbo 3/8 bolts. Might also work on the downpipe if they can rest against something obviously in a different size thread though.

Check out this ebay ad they have some good pics of the product....

The stage 8 looks like a very clever idea. It might be a pain to remove in confined space but the idea is really good.

Have they got anything in stud and nuts? Do you know what material their bolt is made out of? Has any of their bolt stretch with your setup SgtB?

thread lock. There are a couple different colors... one is like 170ft lbs to break loose after it dries so try that. cr@ppy tire has all you need.
won't work
thread locker will melt like butter

as mentioned earlier, stage 8 has proven to work.

My turbo has never come loose again since i put them on.

Stage 8 does have locking nuts. If you look under products>other locking kits you will see an example on their site. The bolts are very high strength.

High strength is one thing but high strength and resistant to heat is another story. After wasting so much time with stretched studs, loss nuts I don't think I will buy anything else but inconnel studs or Nissan stuffs. Having said that, I will be keen to try these if my Nissan stuffs fail. The stage 8 system looks very clever.

The stage 8's are 12.9 hardness. Good luck stretching that due to heat. They are a top notch fastener.

Another thing which helps is retightening bolts when hot/warm and using v-bands wherever possible. With a Tial turbine housing and 44mm wastegate, the only bolts would be manifold to head...

But you still have the turbine to manifold connection to deal with - IMO the most problematic connection. Someone needs to try a steel O-ring and copper gasket there. That might prevent small exhaust leaks from that connection due to loose nuts and bolts/studs. Safety-wiring, mechanical locking fasteners, spot-welding nuts all are useful but a PITA here. But add an o-ring and copper gasket with one of these locking methods and it should hold forever.

V-band wastegate and DP connections are a life-saver. Are you saying Tial has a turbine housing option with V-band connection (rather than T3/T4 flange) for turbine to manifold connection, or are you just referring to the wastegate? If the former, are any of the manifold makers offering this option yet?

Thanks for the info. I will resort to that when my nissan bolts fail. For the price and what they are the Stage 8 is a good deal then.

interesting this thread should arrise, ive just spent the day pulling the manifold and turbo off the car to switch the bolts for studs because of the same issue occuring. A question for those with the inlinepro mani are you guys able to put a bolt/stud in all 4 corners? I have one hole that i cant get anything to work because of the positioning of the turbo, is this a common problem or is this unique to me, also would just 3 well tightend nuts work?
