Default i want to supercharge

i have an brand new 07 s2000 not even broke in yet and i want to supercharge it ASAP. what's a good mileage to do this? will it be reliable if its low boost and tuned properly with stock internals? Will the car last long without a problem? i know that the clutch will go, but that's ok i can replace that easy. i'm just wondering if the engine will manage to handle the boost for a long time without blowing up any internals?

You can add the supercharger now. Many owners have reported great results with longevity. The supercharger may help seat those rings better.

Any changes to an engine will effect durability. The engine was not designed for boost, but that doesn't mean it can't handle it. Many people here have boosted their S (me included) and have had no problems. Some people have had problems, but usually they are not staying with the basic SC set up or they drive their car hard. If you are looking for 200,000 miles out of your engine, I wouldn't suggest boost, but if you want to have fun and be boosted, you can do it and still enjoy the car for a long time.

P.S. You do realize how much it cost to SC a '06-07 right? It's a lot more than the other years.

^^ I agree.

I would recommend that you drive your car N/A to learn the handling characteristics first and then when you are comfortable with it...... go FI.

With out establishing a baseline for knowing the limits of the car, it could cause problems in the future with adding an additional 100 hp.

I just hit 900miles on the clock today, and still enjoying powerful engine as it is.
I know for sure that I will SC my car eventually, but I just want to give it more time and enjoy the stock form for a while.
Like Dsgs2k3 said, it is possible that the deals would be better after about a year.
Just my $0.02

that's true the price is pretty expensive..maybe i'll just wait a little bit longer.. maybe the jackson racing is a better set-up..for now i guess i'll stay NA..
what do you'll suggest to put as a bolt on for now that adds good power, that i can still use when supercharge in the future..

gomarlins3 how many years or mileage you've driven your S without a problem?
