Thumbs up

Anyone out there running their kit and putting down 500 on pump and a stock bottom end? Interested in hearing from you, if so.

Nice car and numbers, welcome to the club. What timing and a/f did they end up running?

That's a good question which I had on my list to ask (wanted to see A/F with hp/tq data in an ASCII file). Didn't think to ask about the timing. Again, going back to my hands-on days, I was working with a distributor and a timing light, running something on the order of 10 degrees initial and 36 degrees total via mechanical advance............ have no idea what base timing profile looks like for even a stock S2K (interested in knowing, as well as timing profiles from others out there running turbos). Personally, w/o seeing objective #'s, I believe it's quite rich at WOT, simply based on tailpipe color (ok, it's black, duh....... but just slightly rub your finger and it's covered in shitloads of deposits - quite heavier than stock) and the tan exhaust color above/round the pipes on the back of the car (a royal bitch to remove during yesterday's clean - will try additional wax to see if it helps in this area).

I'll be down there again before the end of the year, so I'll get into that info............... I'd like #'s closer to 500; 425 is gradually settling-in as now feeling just "normal", except on exit of tighter turns............ funny how it used to be that I used to try and exit just above v-tec, and now I want to exit before the turbo has even fully spooled up.............. at least such is the case right now with 50F temps and stock (bald) 050 tires. My balls have shrunk a bit, I will admit.

This is going to sound really dumb probably and show how little I know about turbo setups, but here goes. With turbo setups, does the car boost at full throttle only or do you get boost regardless of throttle position? I guess what I mean is that if you are at half throttle in a turbo S2000, is it going to feel similar to a non-turboed S2000 at half throttle or will it feel much more powerful. Thanks for the help.

You definetly get boost at partial throttle settings. As an example, on the highway at, say 60 mph in 6th gear, no need to downshift. Just step on the gas, you don't have to floor it, and boost will build quickly.

Cool, thanks for the response. I had always wondered about that.
