the first time he turned it on, it crank up and actually turned on, but there was like this squicky sound, so he turn it off..after that the starter just click..it has that clicking sound only not even turning or cranking.. he keep pressing the ignition button then i saw smoke coming from the starter area..

Yeah I would suggest that after you figure it out you never have that shop work on your car again.

Hilarious.

Anyways, I'd start with the basics. Pull the starter and have it tested...you mentioned that you saw smoke coming from it, so I'm thinking it could be fried.

The bendix probably hung up and smoked the starter.

haha..for sure i won't go back there again..its just that there's limited mechanic here where i live..what could have cause it to do that? i mean, my car is barely 9 months with 8k miles on it...if its the starter, you'll think it be fine with a new one?

most likely he didn't install the clutch/ flywheel/ and PP right... I'm thinking its all binded up real bad

AFter he tried to restart it the starter probably couldn't even move the flywheel which fried the starter.

What you have to do is drop everything and inspect the clutch install... be prepared to buy a new starter too
