Guys, I have a Full Blown Intake Manifold and I am wondering what this small port/hole is for?
Some people on the Australian Forum say it's for coolent, others say it's for cold starts and it heats the Cat.
I don't see other Honda Intakes with them.
Cheers
That's the coolant port and yes the stock manifold has one as well.
Stock manifold also has an air injection valve that sits on top of that, it routes air to the exhaust on cold starts to heat up the cat.
Coolant port is a must to use but the air injection is only for emissions and that's probably why Fullblown ditched it.
It's not a coolant port, it's where the EGR (Exhaust Gas Re-circulation) valve goes or a block off plate if you don't run emissions equipment. The small steel plate/manifold on the exhaust side of the head has small ports under it coming from each exhaust port, which routes over to the EGR valve.
I stand corrected after looking at my stock manifold. I was thinking of the EGR port above that port that's not on this manifold.
We don't have an exhaust gas recirculation system on the s2000. Just air injection. And I'm not talking about the big snail looking thing hanging off your intake
