That's pretty surprising to see, especially with all the good results that many have had running Precision turbos on these boards.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, but then again looking at my turbo I'm kinda hoping that by now they would have sorted all the issues out.

I wonder what all turbo's they have had issues with. Most of that thread seems like the spec Pro Mod turbo

What spec is the 6266bb? I'm guessing it would be like street spec or something?

By Spec I meant this:

A spec 88 mm turbocharger will be mandated. This turbocharger will be manufactured only by Precision Turbo & Engine.
The turbine housing part number will be 10301-XXX and the compressor wheel will be A24288C. Only this approved turbocharger and its components will be permitted. Any modification to the spec turbocharger is prohibited.
They have to run a specific PTE turbo for the class.

It's a shame that Pro Mod has gone so down hill. It was One of the best classes. none of the cool unique cars are competitive any more (Willy's coupes, 63 Corvettes, etc). Everyone is running the 69 Camaro now.

Never owned a Garrett but PTE's are great new.
My 5857 billet did need a rebuild after 12k miles but that might have been attributed to some oil starvation incidents.
Can really complain though since the turn around time was 24 hours & they sent back overnight shipping for free.
If I ever get into Pro Mod ill be sure to buy a Garrett
