I'm not an expert but it looks deep.
the mechanic told me it's from the coolant leaking into the cylinder

hopefully i can still use oversized Mahle pistons, otherwise I'll have to re-sleeve it

there's a local ship that uses plain sleeves and then do an open deck design similar to Darton
I've seen B18's boosting over 500whp using them and holding up nicely, also many other blocks not only Honda's
might try it out
