Default Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump vs 2 walbros

Right now i am torn between two future fuel setup options..... After talking to many different people i am stuck, my goal is for 650whp out of a stock AP1 on a S362 or S366 T3 turbo.......

Option 1: Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump

Jeff Evans seems to be a very found believer of this product... He claims that with a simple walbro 255, Kenne Bell BAP, and a fuel pressure regulator, this setup should support around 650-700whp safely without a problem, I am a huge Evans-Tuning follower, and i respect his ideas more than anything, just seeing what you guys think?

Hondata has also used this product with a single walbro 255 on their Bonneville salt flats RSX, and made over 700whp without an issue for over a year...

Option 2: FullBlown Dual Walbro setup w/ new lines

I really like this idea, but i dont like the cost lol, i Have done the math and to do a complete fuel system with dual pumps, -8 feed line, -6 return, fuel pressure regulator, inline fuel filter, upgraded fuel rail and all needed fittings is around $1100, this seems like a more reliable setup than just upping the voltage to a single walbro, but just curious on your thoughts.....

thanks for everything....

Evans recommended me Boost a Pump for my Water/meth (to get the most out of it), I wonder if this would also help produce big numbers on race gas......................

how about the mkiv supra pump and a boost a pump? Supra pump is rated at 280lph vs the walbro's 255. You wouldn't have to turn up the boost a pump as much.

I am thinking more and more about getting this, would this make a race gas tube worth it?

I think i'll end up getting one so my audio system doesn't jack up the volts that the pump gets, I guess I can discuess this more in depth with tony when he is tuning the car

I think another "advantage" of the single pump + KB BAP is the fact that if the pump fails it will be more noticeable than one pump failing in a dual-pump setup.
If one pump fails in a dual pump setup, the other "masks" the defective pump and you will end up with a dangerously lean-prone half-capable fuel delivery system, whereas in the single setup, you may be able to catch the pump taking a dump.

Pumps don't usually just stop working, they slow down and deliver fuel at decreasing rates.

Also always good idea to have a fuel pressure gauge so you can monitor fuel delivery pressures.

Deathsled has a good suggestion, those Supra guys run tons of power on their OEM Denso pumps.

Just get a BAP for the audio system too.

Something rubs me the wrong way about running 17v to a fuel pump. On a single pump case it may not be as bad, since the car will simply shut off or not start if the pump burns out. On dual pump cases, I have seen motors get lost due to one pump burning out, and the second pump still functioning while on KB BaP's.

Whether or not it was actually the additional voltage that caused the pump to burn out or not I really can not say for sure, but I am just a firm believer in doing it right the first time with running a parallel dual pump setup as soon as you get close to maxing out a single pump.

A single pump and ID 1000cc's will support what the 35r can output full tilt. If you dont plan on running the car around on race gas all the time, you'll get to about 85% of the turbos potential for street use on pump gas and meth injection.
With or without the Kenny Bell Boost a bump?
