King Motorsports is good as far as work goes. Prices are a bit expensive though and i would say they dont have the best tunes. Most of the cars they have tuned are extremely rich.
Care to elaborate? What's rich? I'm tuned at 12.0... I did request that though.
Psssh. That's lean. My turbo S is at 11.3ish wot. My NA cam'd jeep is 12.2.

Spending the money on the car to get things right isn't an issue. My gearbox alone cost in the region of $20.000.What is an issue is spending money on an engine again and again when it should have been right in the first place.

Don't be too hard on yourself, it's easy to get caught up on internet hype and marketing...and just assume the people are just as good at business.

Being from outside the US, sad to say...makes you an easy target. Shady people\shops know that you have little legal recourse, and once you told them you had health issues...the 'pissed off guy showing up at the shop' worry was gone too. Proper Due Diligence is super important in this industry if wanna make your dollars count...setup research, experience, and due diligence of anyone who does work for you...and the ability to properly guide them and check their work. As far as engine work, you either need to pay the Premium and have someone reputable like Inline Pro build your whole setup...or you need to bring your exact specs to a local machine shop, double check their work...then assemble it yourself.

Strange you should mention assembling it myself because I did ask Fernando about just supplying the component parts and building it myself over here.I certainly wouldn't have put those piston back in.He asked why I would choose to do that when his engine builder has built dozens of s2000 engines. In hindsight that would certainly have been the better option.

What I will certainly do is have lots of pictures taken and I'll post them up on here to show what you could be getting for your $12.000 investment, which is the price he put on my engine once his guy had rebuilt it.

This really doesn't read well. I've visited Kings a number of times over the years on my holidays with family and have always been enthusiastic about their approach and excited about their achievements with the S2000.

I genuinely hope there's some light at the end of this tunnel, your car seems to have turned so few miles despite a gigantic build.

to be honest I don't see anything positive coming out of this. The engine has done a total of 1170 mile plus what it did on the Dyno last week.

I felt really uncomfortable about posting this up but having thought about his reaction and the blame coming straight at me, plus the "we have built hundreds of engines with 0% problems apart from yours", comment it's quite obvious he really doesn't care how much down time I've had, how much time and money this has cost me or how much hassle it's caused and is going to cause to get it put right. So why should I care about his reputation or any lost revenue this may cause.

I would welcome is response on this open forum to just see how he justify s what's been done.

A lot of people babble on about should of went here, should of went there, should of done this when they have no experience with other shops and listen to all hear say. I understand where your coming from. We are all trying to find the right shop and read things online about shops doing great things. But not all of us has X amount of dollars to dump into a engine build. Sometimes we are trying to find the right deal at the right time and hope we get lucky. Building a engine isn't as easy as they say, a lot can go wrong and nothing ever runs like it did from the factory. Inline pro has a good reputation, but is very expensive at the same time. I got a quote for my build and it was over 10k from inline pro. Although at the same time I have heard horror stories about them as well online about there motors blowing and them doing bad jobs. Guess its a risk you take with going with a engine builder and every shop out there calling themselves a engine builder. Thanks for the info, I was thinking of going with kings performance at one point. I might just save up the money and go with inline pro.
