Horrible news again of a UK customer getting the run around! Really feel for you Glen!

The fact here is that the engine failed first time round, Kings agreed to put this right which is good, but they took the p*ss by refitting damaged pistons! They know exactly the situation, and had a chance to make things good but they cut corners and have cost the customer another few thousand quid. Really boils my blood! Why agree to fix a faulty engine if your going to just throw it back together with the same pistons?!?!

As always, i hope they come good, but whether you would actually trust them again is another story.......

After reading this I will definitely never buy anything from these crooks. I was about to spend some G's getting their products thinking they have a good reputation but putting damaged pistons back into a rebuilt motor is nuts. Im going Inline pro.

They were "KP Spec" pistons as they label every off the shelf part that they use on their cars "KP Spec"

Im waiting to hear what they have to say. I feel bad for what happened. Your s2000 is beautiful. Honestly if i was in your situation i would just throw a stock motor in there with the kit. At least that way you can enjoy it. Its been such a headache for you. Besides, stock blocks have made over 800. I hope they try to make things right.

Really sad to see this happen to you. That's a shame that they could have put in new Pistons , or ASKED if you would want new Pistons and given them to you at their cost, or included.
As far as piston slap, it is a race motor and probably built like a loose piece of crap. I had a b series once that sounded like Diesel engine it had so much piston slap but it made 800whp and ran bottom 9s for 2 years after the guy flipped out on me for selling him a "junk motor" lol.
Hopefully the rest of your build is more positive and goes smoothly. Your car seems very nice.

When the engine failed the first time the obvious enough damage was to the Pistons and bores. Before it was sent back to kings I discussed with Fernando what I thought needed replacing......the Pistons fore sure the short block either needed re honing or re sleeving and the oil pump needed replacing after all the metal filings had gone throught it.He agreed and promised the engine would be like new when I get it back.So asking for new Pistons or being offered them never came up.

When I first bought the engine off Fernando it had a built head on it,it was ported and had Ferrea Valves/ springs, retainers Guides ect,in fact it had the works and it was good/ safe at 1000 hp

Whilst it was being re built I got a message off Fernando asking if I wanted to purchase new valves/ springs and retainers.which would take the hp upto a safe 1000,he wanted $1000 to replace the Ferrea springs ect for "better parts",

So I wasn't offered new Pistons but I was offered the opportunity to buy valve train component for $1000 fitted.I declined.

Fernando knows this a pure street car,no curcuit work.

When he does come on here to respond we can ask him about the wrong gasket that was fitted to the new turbo,so as soon as the engine started oil was pouring out,and we can also ask about why the turbo oil return going to the Girdle had a bad oil leak which needed an engine removal to re weld up.........Only little things I know but all put together requiring a lot of work.

I won't let this thread fade,I will update it every week so it goes back to the top of the page, with an update on what Fernando proposes to do.

I'm thinking I need some money, either he can buy this engine off me or just give me money towards rebuilding it or I want component parts to help lay off the cost of my rebuilding it.Ive told Fernando that he is welcome to buy the parts off me when I replace them.....after all the have only done 1170 miles in total,The parts he can buy off me are Pistons, conrods, oil pump, and Crank.

If he's smart he will contact you privately, settle the matter and ask you to remove the post. It's never smart from a business point of view to reply to this stuff publicly. It always ends up bad.

He's got that option,we are in contact via whatsapp.I think he probably thinks I'm being ungrateful because of what he's done for me in the past........maybe I am but I'm into that engine for more than $10.000 with various labour charges and the initial purchase price.

I'm just a normal working man and that is a lot of money to me especially considering it needs another $8000 throwing at it.......that is a serious amount of money, time and effort for an engine. The engine will be rebuilt using all new part including the Crank and conrods,Pistons and oil pump.

My car will end up right in the end and because of the quality of the components and finish it does attract some serious attention. It is possibly a missed opportunity by Kings Performance to make a good impression in the UK.

The unfortunate part is that it got to the point where you made this post. As a small business owner I do everything in my power to settle the situation before it makes it this far. Even in cases where the customer was clearly in the wrong. Hopefully this gets taken care of quickly.
