Default Kompact 25mm BOV Enough?

SOS supercharger kit running 13 lbs of boost and I seem to be getting a lot of fluttering anytime I'm above 4k with partial or idle throttle.

The Turbosmart Kompact 25mm would be a drop in replacement for the Bosch valve that came with the kit.

Anyone know if that valve would flow enough to keep up with the Novi 1200 blower?

Thanks!

25mm is pretty small. I run a tial style QRJ that has a 38mm outlet. Max boost pressure i run is 12psi.

Its better to have a larger valve. Flutter can cause damage to the charger over time. Alot of the original HKS kits suffered charger shafts snapping and they fluttered all the time. I changed mine when i fitted the kit and 4 years later ive had no issues.

I had to install two blow off valves for my comptech paxton 1000 setup with a 3inch pulley (making 14psi) as I was getting pretty crazy compressor surge with just one.

You might be the same person who PM'd me, but I can confirm that with a healthy Bosch BPV and then a with Kompact 25mm BOV, I never had fluttering issues with NOVI1000 and 3" pulley.

I did have an issues when I installed a knock-off Amazon Bosch BPV and the diaphragm failed. Fluttering was unreal. I took the BPV off and you couldn't even move the mechanism in or out, it was jammed. That is when I upgraded to Kompact and it has been aboslutely fantastic.

Run the Turbo Smart and current Bosch in tandem. Just use the 3/4" Air pump nipple Assuming 00-05) and just build a short stack of 3/4 hose inside the 1" and its PNP with a couple clamps. A little ghetto but its works well and a lot less work welding/and noise then getting a single big Tial 50mm on there. I ran this tandem set up on my 1200 at 18psi and didn't have any flutter. The single Turbo smart would be a little better then the Bosch but its still being forced out of a single 25mm opening. At least with the tandem your getting about 40mm and some tunability/flexibility with the turbo smart spring/preload and routing if you want to dump it or return for less noise. You have options.
