Kw kit BAD design kit. Cogged belt system is the principal problem.. I was one of the first to have the v2.2 kw kit. I have ALL the issues that this kit can have. I recomend to Stay away for this kit. Do.it once and buy a really good design and quality kit. Go with TTS .

I'd bet tts also hasn't sold anywhere near as many kits as KW has. oIf you don't want the KW, than go SOS. TTS isn't even an option IMO. Why spend the same if not more than the SOS for the TTS?

It's the rotrex blower itself that hates being overspun or even slightly overheated. Doesn't matter which kit you get.

Because all People decide to go the cheap way. And Then Realize that you have to buy correct the first time ( sos OR tts) . Take a look in tts homepage the quality and design of the kit and you will Realize the HUGE difference betwheen tts vs kw.

I choose tts because is a lot more efficient in mid range power , more quiet and many pros than paxton blower that im not going to write now.

For your imformation the TTS RACE KIT cost the same than SOS.

oh, I really dont cate of spending how much, because I will be ending changing to the best one and I will stay with the s2k for long time. I really like the SOS, but SOS team told me that I need to use e85 or race fuel if Im going to run 400whp+ , and I dont like that option. Im seeing that KW will work with 91 or 93 doing more than 400, but im reading a lot of issues about them.

Can I run 91 or 93 gas and do my goal whp with tts kit?

The KW kit is a good kit. It just needs to be installed correctly. There is no margin for incorrect install and/or tuning. SOS seems to be more forgiving in this area i.e.. rev limit and over spinning the blower, belt tension, torquing of bolts etc.

Have some members on here had nightmare experiences with the kit? yes! Are there others who have not? also, yes... but what bothers me is that KW has not done anything to help ease the suspicion of a bad design. They have not corrected and elaborated the install instructions...they sell the kit with a cheap fuel pump...among other things. They are selling a shit load of kits, so i think this comes into play for them. Why take the time to help change things if the sales continue to sky rocket??? And because of this i think the community will always refer to the handful of nightmare stories that keep recycling over and over again on here....

If i was looking to buy a KW kit again, id do the following:

1) find someone who has installed the kit before without issue...
2) change fuel pump to a walbro 255lph OR use the GRAMS pump but add SOS wiring... this is crucial.
3) open up communication with KW and have them help with belt tension...
4) lower rev limit on 06+ to 8200 rather than the usual 8400 rpm...

I still put down 419whp at 8200 rpm which is a lot of fun. Make sure your car is in good working order as in maintenance done prior to boosting. Valve adjustment, compression test /Leakdown test, correct plugs and gapped correctly, check oil levels, etc... the basic stuff... you can't double the horsepower of the car and not expect issues if the car is not up to par. just my $0.02

The KW kit is a steal at the price so i think this makes people lean towards it. I am also guilty of this decision. But i have been good to go so far... When the car is running hard no one is on here bragging about it... but when something bad happens everyone jumps all over the kit and blames the design. So just educate yourself on here with all the threads about boosting the car first... then go from there. Boost = problems regardless of power levels and which brand you go with...

The blower is only loud when it's hot and the hood is open, otherwise it's relatively quiet. You only really hear the belt whistle in the driver's seat when you're in a tunnel (enclosed space) or when the car is slowing to a stop and you're in gear.

SOS will tell you this because they won't recommend it. But the fact is there are people on the forums well over 400 rwhp on the SOS kit. I dynoed 380 on just 8psi with a 4.0 pulley on a low reading dyno dynamics (not dynojet). There's a 3.8, 3.6, 3.4, and 3.2 they also sell. I've got the parts ready to drop to a 3.2 soon and expect to hit 420 to 440 on pump and close to 500 or over on e85 (will run a dual tune with pump most of the time).

I've put 40k miles on my SOS2 kit without any issues. Good luck and you will get over the sound... I was worried about it when I was NA and my friend took me for a spin in his SOS...but I'll never forget how I felt after that drive and went home immediately and placed my order.
