Default Larger crank pulley for SC

Maybe this has been discussed before, but my search didn't bring anything up.

Has anyone considered a larger crank pulley to raise boost instead of a smaller SC pulley? I would think you could raise boost without increasing the amount of belt slippage. It seems like there is maybe 1/4 inch of clearance around the crank pulley. So going up 1/4 inch in the overall diameter could raise the boost and only use up about 1/8 inch of that clearance.

I'm not sure how much boost could be raised using this method but it could at least be used in conjunction with a slightly smaller SC pulley to raise boost significantly without belt slippage issues.

It seems like a good idea to me, but there could be a LOT that I'm missing.

What do you think? Would it be more trouble than it's worth to try it out?

The crank pulley interferes with the waterpump pulley so it can not be enlarged adequately to make it worthwhile.

Slippage should not be a problem with a smaller pulley. I picked up a 4 inch ASP pulley and it's design eliminates skipping (it has a lip) and it does not slip when tightened appropriately.

There are some SC in this forum with 11 psi pulley that did not reported any splippage. honda9rpm is looking for solution to avoid slippage when your boost is very high >11 psi

Thanks. I know it's a pretty tight fit but I thought maybe it might be worth attempting.

I know a 4" pulley shouldn't slip but I was looking for a way to hit ~14-15psi and that would require something smaller.

Oh well.
