Default Line missing on IC pipe....

Ok I'm in teh final stages of installing my Mini-me setup....

My intercooler pipe that replaces the stock intake pipe is missing the port on it...

The one that goes from the valve cover to the stock intake pipe....

What are you guys doing with this??

I also have a set of krankvents that i came across..... do you guys recomend using these???

The intercooler pipe is compressed air. You don't connect that to your valve cover.

Run the pipe from the valve cover to the intake tract before the turbo or instead just vent it.

Notice the long red silicon hose.

There is a DIY on a Supra PCV install where our stock PCV is. That's what I did.

Then you install a catchcan on the valve cover vent, and route the other hose from the catchcan to your turbo intake pipe. You will need a nipple on it, any exhaust shop will weld one on if you take the intake pipe there.

-----OR------

Put a catchcan inline where the stock PCV is, and vent the valve cover vent to atmosphere with a little breather filter.

I have never seen a pipe connecting the turbos intake/filter pipe and the cold side intercooler pipe. How does that work. It seems like the turbo would be taking air from itself after going through the intercooler and in turn sending less air into the throttle body (less boost). I know the turbo is getting cooler air, because some is coming from the cold side of the intercooler pipe, but I can't see it making up for the lost airflow into the TB. Interesting set up.

^That is a recirculating BOV. It blows off through the filter. I have heard they are really quiet compared to an open BOV... There is a BOV angled down, under the charge piping, in the picture... gotta blow it up to see.

It's funny, I have always heard of recirculating blow off valves, but never seen one.

I don't know much about it, but my tuner said a bypass valve is the best way to releive compressor surge. He said it keeps the turbo spooled and gets rid of lag between shifts. I may look into this next year. Anybody using this?

The recirc set up doesn't do anything for spool. It's just to keep the noise down and an effort to be somewhat legal.

I think a recirc. BOV and a bypass valve are different things.

I wondered why you mentioned the bypass. What do you think a bypass is?
