Default Liquid_helix136 Build Thread

So this wont be finished for a minute, but I've started a pretty sick engine build that's gonna be built for boost, so I decided to start this bad boy up!

Quick background, I got my 03 about 6 years ago, drove it all through college and put over 100k miles on it. I've gone through many different type of builds varying from fully tuned N/A, 4.77 gearing, nitrous, back to a mild N/A and stock gearing, and now I'm building for boost!

My original plan was to supercharge it on the original engine with 150k miles, however after looking over the health of the engine, boost wasn't in the future. I had oil consumption and oil pressure issues and decided to buy a new short block. I sold the supercharger to get the engine problem figured out. Strike 1! I picked up a screaming deal that ended up being too good to be true, as the rebuilt block was botched from the no-name shop that built it and it only lasted 1000 miles. Strike 2! Details on that bad boy are here https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/108...lightly-built/

Determined to not strike out, I decided to hit up Endyn who happens to be local to me and have them build me something that I wont have any issues with. Ever. That's when I met Larry and Josh and my mind was blown by what I was seeing. Larry is a mad scientist when it comes to engine dynamics, I won't be going anywhere else for any engine needs. He's very particular about making sure anything he puts his name on will be extraordinary and you can tell he takes pride in everything he produces.

My engine should be in the car and running by the end of next week, and will have it broken in and tuned N/A by Seth Francis soon after.

Here's a quick parts list:
Block:
Sonic cleaned and Soda blasted short block
Cylinder walls bored out .25mm and rehoned
Mahle 87.25mm / 9.5:1 cr Pistons
Crower rods w/ the big 7/16" rod cap bolts
OEM Honda rod / main bearings, journals line-honed to ensure best clearances
Deck shaved to ensure flat / tight seal
Polished new F20 crank

Head:
Sonic cleaned and Soda blasted
Bottom and top were shaved down as head was warped a small amount
Supertech Nitride coated In / Ex valves. In- SS, Ex- Inconel.
Manganese / Bronze guides, hone-fitted to each valve
Supertech dual valve springs
Endyne chromoly retainers
Honda keepers, new seals.
Bottom of the head weld resurfaced as I had some pitting from detonation
Cylinder bore CNC'd out .25mm to match the cylinders in the block
Inlet ports blended by Larry to help improve flow.

(This is NOT the head that Urge / Endyn offers, this was a custom request I made)
I may be forgetting a couple other bits they did here and there. But I'm excited, this engine should be able to withstand anything I end up throwing at it in the future.

Goal is to have a reliable daily driven 400-500whp turbo set up. I know the transmission is gonna be the first to go, but I'll deal with that when the time comes
I haven't decided on a kit yet, but I'm debating between Trackforged with a gt3076, Full Race FF Twinscroll with a BW 7670 or the FR EFR 7670 set up.

Pics!

If you want over 500, which you eventually will, don't get the gt3076 they run out of steam uptop.

You will be very please with this: FR EFR 7670 set up. It will meet your goals and the lag is really non existent.

The head and block are soda blasted, wipe them down with a wet rag, dry it off and throw some engine paint on there to really spiff it up while its out of the car. 3 light/medium coats are your good to go.
