Default Looking to get supercharged.. Misc. questions and concerns..

My goal is max 400whp, quiet and reliable car/sc kit, and just an extremely fun car to drive and shock a few cars on the highway from time to time..

I've been racking my brain searching and reading up on the various kits and mods, dyno numbers and all of the like.. And I'm pretty positive I want the kraftwerks high boost kit for my s2000..

Does anyone with this kit have any information that would concern a potential buyer: issues, pros/cons, likes/dislikes, etc?! I pretty much plan to stay within the kits whp range of 350-400whp and want to do it safely and quietly.. I want my car to be a shocker/sleeper and ego buster without really giving the FI presence off too loudly..

I like the design and appearance of the kit under the hood, it looks pretty clean and uncluttered unlike the other sc kits that mount directly on to the front of the motor, and since I would prefer to keep my torque damper I think this setup with the rotrex is ideal..

What supporting mods would any sc guys reccomend, I'd really like to keep my stock cat back, and I already have a 63.5mm berk test pipe on my car (that I will obviously keep when I make the aspiration swap).. So what kind of header would yield the most favorable gains, size throttle body, etc.. (just curious to see what other kraftwerks guys are using and benefiting from) I know the blower is already maxed out so are any of you guys running meth to cool the intake charges more to make more power at 10psi, running leaded fuels, etc?!

Another thing, I know the kit comes with a preset tune, has anyone with a 04/05 AP2 had any issues with the EMS it comes with, or switched over to AEM because of difficulties with the greddy unit??

Anyone have issues with the stock drivetrain/clutch assembly, or blew up a motor running this kit as it comes?? I saw a thread recently about people destroying second gear from hard shifts usually 1st to 2nd, anyone have issues with that?!

Any answers and all opinions are welcomed, I'll continue to do my research and keep searching the topic.. (I'm sure I left some concerns out, so please bare with me)

Thanks for the input guys!!

Many posts about kraftwerks. My kit is in the 3rd go around trying to make it reliable. Great concept but kraftwerks fell short in implementation with inadequate or cheap parts. If you do the upgrades suggested then it will be great. Get one used at a cheap price and add the mods and you will have the best kit on the market. Mods include upgraded tensioner pulley and bearings, larger diverter valve and larger setraub oil cooler. If you are handy with tools this is practical, if not go another way or you will spend too much money.

With all the kits out there, how did you decide that Kraftwerks was the way to go?

That is comparable to thinking Herman Cain is going to be the next president.

Just personal preference..

I'm not in need or desire of more than 400whp.. And I think the cleanest looking kit is the kraftwerks, and I like the way it sounds.. It's not all crazy loud with the sc at idle..

I don't have any concrete or written in stone plans yet, but I really like the kraftwerks kit.. And I'd really like to stay away from going turbo..

Rotrex blowers remind me of a giant flex fan under the hood. Or maybe a big vacuum leak.

I'd definitely go SOS or vortech over the kraftwerks kit. Much better track records and potential.

If you really want to go with a Roltrex blower, I'd look into the TTS SC kits... They look pretty promising and I've seen great whp numbers.

Kw is realible so far for me. 12k on it and not 1 problem. Problem is that its almost impossible to reach the 400 mark. I only have 360whp 245 tq. If thats enough for you then ..

I don't want to break 400whp.. (I want my tranny to last as long as possible, and I see people are breaking them left and right with more hp)

I really don't care for how the vortech/comptech kits mount the supercharger in front of the motor.. I want it to be rather stealthy/hidden.. And the kraftwerks kit seems like it pulls that off better..
