A tune, and something to tune.

The stock ecu is not tunable (with some exceptions) so you'll need a replacement ECU or decent piggyback.

what replacement ecu or piggyback would you all suggest for a turbo. I've read a bit into the vafc and the aem unit but I'm not sure what else is out there

what year is your S?

AEM EMS, Kpro, Emanage Ultimate, AEM FI/C are your choices depending on year..

Emanage/AEM FIC = all years (piggybacks)

Kpro = 00-05 (for now supposedly...) - standalone

Full AEM EMS = 00-05 - standalone

Modified AEM = 06+ (more money, lose cruise, VSA) - standalone with stock ecu retained to control throttle function

devs2k...thank you for showing me all the options. the basis for my choice would be that its going to be a dd, and I wouldn't want to go much more than 300whp. I will probably get a MY 01 as that is the one I am looking at right now. Based on that info, what would be the most logical and practical?

if you want only 300whp and you know you will never want more i would get the greddy turbo kit which comes with the emanage ultimate

honestly, i would go with what a reputable tuner in your area is most experienced with...

My biggest problem is that I do not want to upgrade the tranny and rear diff unless I break it. And to be safe I dont want to go much more than 300 for the time being. I'm just hoping that I can find a good tuner.

your tranny and dif can break at stock power levels, it all depends on how u drive it, it u beat the hell out of it im sure its gonna break, but if u dont launch the car u should be fine with whatever power
