Default Loud Squeeling in Vtec

I've posted trying to get this issue resolved a couple times and nothing has become of it. I've kinda narrowed it down, isolated the problem, and when it occurs so hopefully someone can provide some useful feedback.

My car is supercharged and has been for about 60,000 miles. I recently swapped the stock AP1 pulley for a AP2 pulley. Put everything back toghether, raised the fuel pressure, checked AFR's with my wideband, and everything was great. After a few weeks, once the car gets hot, I get a loud squeel/squeek sound once I'm in VTEC and the car doesn't pull like it should. The first 10-15 minutes I drive the car it's fine, no problems at all. After that I get the loud piercing squeel/squeek.

It seems aparent to me that there is a problem with the supercharger, somewhere along the line. I've addressed the most obvious things. I've tightened the belt and removed and checked the pulley multiple times. I have the little pin in place that keeps the pulley from spinning on the shaft so there's no way that's the problem. It seems like I've eliminated everything that would be obvious. My thoughts now are:

1. Problem with the crank pulley? I don't remember exactly how it is attached, could it be slipping?

2. Something inside the blower is messed up. Has this happened before? Can it be rebuilt?

3. Is it possible it's not a problem with the SC and it's motor related?

The fact that it works perfectly for 10-15 minutes really throws me. Obviously something works when it's cool and doesn't when it's hot. Is there anything you guys could suggest to check out before I just completely freak out and smash the car into a tree 150? Help!

Have you check it while the car is in netural?
If you can't locate the squeal with the hood open try either getting an automotive stethascope or get a piece of hose (one end to your ear other to the engine bit you think is making the noise) and listen to where it's comming from.

You have to tighten the crap out of those pulleys. Espically when you go smaller.

You can also get some spray fixative (art stores will have this) or a light grade spray glue and spray a little on the belt (inside where it rides on the pulley). See if that stops the squealing.

If that dosent work try isolating the problem perhaps removing the belt altogether see if its an engine thing...

the crank pulley has had issues with bolt shearing with the comptech.

Thanks for the advise.

I'm using a stock AP2 pulley, so you wouldn't expect it to slip as long as it's tight. I put my girlfriend in the car a couple weeks ago and said "Push the gas until it goes to the 7 and hold it there." Whew, talk about a painful thing to listen to with your head under the hood. On top of that it wouldn't even squeel for me, I guess it has to be under load.

Is it ok to just remove the old belt and drive the car like that? I'm going to buy a new belt today. Once I take the old one off I'll take it for a drive and see if the problem is still there.

Any idea what the symptoms were with the crank pulley bolt shearing?

If you guys have anymore input or ideas, please throw them my way.

i had the same issue as you, when i was supercharged. One day the things just started squeaking, similar to what you were saying yours did. Unfortunatly, i was unable to replicate it after that as later that night i dropped a valve It definitely seemed to be coming from the blower, or belt!

Belt slippage.

Did you change pulleys and not change belts?

You guys were right, it was the belt. The belt was tight, I'd adjusted it multiple times. I finally came across a post from 2002 where a guy was saying that his belt had apparently picked up some oil/grease/dirt and once it warmed up it'd start to slip. Went to Pep Boys, bought a belt and it ran like a champ, until I broke an axle a couple hours later.
