Lowering Vtec engagement
Has anyone here with a vortech kit on an AP1 lowered their vtec engagement to 4400? I'm just wondering if there would be any benefits to it, since the SOS kits come with a blackbox which lowers vtec to 4400 as well as fuel trim and helps hide boost.
Do it! Mine is at 4500 and it really helped make the midrange stronger.
Edit: I'm running the SOS kit with EMU (and lowering VTEC made a big difference). Sorry if my original post was enthusiastic yet misleading...

Yeah no problem, you can pick up power bellow 4k rpm. Just remember the vafc is not load sensitive, it is purely rpm induced. So if you don't want to be running vtec cruising on the hwy or during normal shifts, then set it accordingly. The happy medium for me is 4500-4800rpm
Ok. Thanks guys. I'm assuming you guys don't get CEL from lowering vtec? What about the oil pressure needed to switch vtec? Just like you S2000Junky I will be using my VFAC (Neo) to lower my engagement.
