Default Mac solenoid crapping out

Thinking about ordering a new Mac solenoid for my boost control. It keeps acting intermittent. With my 7psi spring I can hit 23psi most of the time but sometimes it decides to just run spring pressure.

I've double checked wiring. I even set the controller to be on with engine off and ignition on and wiggled the wires to check for a loose connection but came up with nothing.

I can do a 2,3,4 pull and it will be fine and then try and do it immediately after and only hit 7psi. I can then do another pull and have no issue. This is with all my fail safes turned off in AEM just to make sure something wasn't acting up.

Any ideas? Has anyone seen these things go bad like this?

Check and make sure port 3 isn't clogged.

I think it may be the spring crapped out. I just removed it and it's about half inch shorter than a used 7psi spring I have. I have a 14lb spring im going to try out I just have to adjust my boost table accordingly. Keep you guys posted

Update. Still fluttering. With the 14psi spring when the fluttering happens it drops down to 14psi (spring pressure) Same thing that was happening with the 7psi spring.

Any ideas?

I have the frequency set to 31hz in aempro and a duty cycle of 25% gives me my 23lbs. This works most of the time except it decides to start fluttering once in awhile...

It's the solenoid or the ems. Same thing happened to me. All of a sudden I could only boost to spring psi. Id spend a few bucks to see if replacing it work. If not return it. I bet if you used a manual controller it would boost fine.

You might want to check the diaphragm in the wastegate to make sure it's still in good shape.

I have a used Mac solenoid that u was using at 19psi with a 10# spring. And them again recently 15psi with a 5# spring.

You're welcomed to use it to test if you want. But it doesn't have any fittings for the ports as i am reusing it in my current (shinier) solenoid.
