Default Machining flywheel for more plate pressure

Long story short, installed a clutch masters FX 500 w/sprung friction. The flywheel was resurfaced but somehow its slipping up top at a little over 500hp

The pressure plate is insanely light...like i thought it was broken. Apparently that's just how it is. I pulled the trans and found a little scarring on the flywheel after 600 miles... Im at a loss on what has happend

Question is, if i resurface the flywheel again and shaved 030" more on the pressure plate mounting surface than the friction surface would that give me a bit more pressure?

I'm confused on how this would create more clamping force, sorry wish I could help. GL...

I'm at 490 and 343 on a BS FI clutch...

Sounds like the flywheel was machined on the clutch surface only, you must remove the dowel pins and machine the step part of the fly wheel the same amount that the clutch surface was.

^This. He is correct. If only the clutch surface area was resurfaced, it will reduce the amount of clamp. You need to have the clutch surface and pressure plate mounting surface machined the same amounts.

Both surfaces were machined .010"... That is not in question, I am referring to if the pressure plate mounting surface was machined MORE THAN the friction disk surface, it should give more clamping pressure

I would get a new clutch disk and pressure plate, any warranty?

In theory yes.... you'd have to make sure you are not below recommended thickness on that pressure plate..
