Main and rod bearings, hmm...
I tried to order bearings today but they were color marked and had different size from main to main, same with rods.
Seen it before when I´ve built Skyline and Volvo engines but didn´t know Honda used the same system.
My questions for you:
1. Any guides online for bearing size vs crank/block numbers?
2. Can I find codes on crank and block like other car brands? Where?
3. Any idea about rod bearing size for Carillo rods?
4. OEM or ACL?
They main reason for asking is that my engine is at the sleeve shop, can´t check for numbers but want to prepare and order stuff.
Thanks a lot!

If u get Acl I remember reading to measure the block crank Clarence and try to go middle road with all of them. If oem u need block to decipher which to get. But if they line bore the thing I think it all changes.
What is the benefit of ACL bearings compared to OEM? Better material? I was always under the impression that the best bearings are the ones that allow you to keep uniform clearances, and depending on what you're building it for, the tightest clearances possible. It would seem a 'one size fits all' wouldn't be the most ideal?
honda cranks are usually very consistent and most quality rods are very consistent as well. I have always had good luck with acl race bearings in these motors.
Every time I use honda bearings I end up buying an ass load of extra bearings trying to the clearance I want.

Yea, what I've gotten into as well. I've got extra bearings laying around b/c of that, lol.
I've done OEM on the crank side, and ACL on the rod side in the past.
