Unfortunately, no. The bolt sheered off and is sunk about 1/8" into the head

Ahh man that sucks....little trick we do is carefully weld another bolt to the broken one and then take it out. Not exactly sure how much room you have to work with but yea.

I never use extractor bit just because of what happened. Good luck!

Get a mig or tig welder and weld a nugget of steel onto the top of the broken off piece. The heat will help loosen it. You should be able to grab it with some side cutters. If its really stuck weld through the centre of a nut onto the broken off bit, an once its cooled a bit use a spanner to remove.

I never had much success with ease outs and use the welding technique as first resort.

This technique even works well on broken off taps.

The tig would be a good way to heat up the tap and aneal it enough to drill it out (note to self).

if your still having trouble getting a good angle at the hole, you might be better off removing the head so you can get at it properly. Because if you mess up you'll be looking at a new head.

I loosened the pass side motor mount and jacked the motor up into more of a straight position. Still haven't been able to get the last broken bolt out (broke another easy out bit inside the sheered off bolt ).

Unfortunately, I don't have access to a welder (don't have the skills either!)

Pulling the head is the last resort...but if it does come to that, I have a fully built Alaniz head sitting in my garage
