Keep in mind that part of the reason you are paying soo much for Full-Race parts is because of the name (their parts are well designed etc; don't take this as a dis against full-race).

Ya know. I thought the same thing till I went to their shop for three days and hung out. If you got to see their opperation they actually design their stuff. They don't just go and make some welds and bends and put it together and then go "Cool that should work.". They actually Solid Works these things out and do structural analysis on their parts. Not many companies take that kind of time to put out a product. Most places I see just make up what they think a manifold should look like and put it on the car hopeing that everything will work. Sorry for another essay but with some engineering in my field of work I like this stuff.

They need CFD software. If they have a Solidworks model, they can launch that into a CFD tool and see if the manifold is worth a dime.

Could you perhaps procure a model for me? I can run a quick analysis. It would elicit lots of "ooohs" and "ahhhs" from the forum members

I can't procure a model but after the races this weekend they should get back to me with some info to talk about. Give us some other things to compare manifolds with. Hey maybe we should get an independent to bench each of the manifolds on the market. That would be cool. Then put it in a magazine. That never happens though. I tried it with the industry I was in and half of the companies didn't want to go for it.

If I had CAD models, I could do a week's worth of flowbench testing in a few hours. And the results would be 1000% more telling as I can show what the flow is doing everywhere in the model. Not just at the inlet and outlet and a few pressure taps.

I know companies are really hesitant about stuff like this. My CFD work will most likely show a fault or two...what company would want that broadcast all over the place. See what you can do though. Say its for your own "recreational" use. You are "learning" Solid Works
Ya I know how the whole in between flow results thing can go. I will find out what they do. For all I know at this point they already do that.

As for learning solidworks. They know that I have other people to do that.

You ever use Algor or cosmos?

We use Algor for the FEA but in our line of work don't need the CFD. Algor ended up having a better structual than most. We have some special parts that we used to test the results of each program. Surprised though that we didn't run across you guys. Most of the programs for FEA can't do our products.
