Thumbs down MAP Sensor & Boost (maybe why I lose sometimes)

Ok With the Meth I plan on tuning to 12PSI, but I hear the OEM MAP sensor is only good to 10PSI, but with the Greddy Turbo Kit doesnt it move the position of the MAP Sensor, there for it doesn't see any Boost at all? If it doesn't see any boost at All why would we need a new one to go past 10PSI?

It doesn't remove it from boost, it just buffers it from shock. A smaller hole doesn't lower the pressure, it only slows the rate of change to smooth the signal, and protect the sensor from shock in the absence of a bov. In short: get the greddy pressure sensor and be done with it.

Not really sure. I'm going AEM with a 3bar map, so I haven't really been looking.

Well it appears that my MAP sensor could potentially be the culprit of problems I have been having with my Greddy kit from day 1, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesnt!

As I was racing a Porsche Cayman, not even an S I pulled him very easily in 2nd then in 3rd the car just kinda stays put, doesnt misfire or bog, but doesnt accelrate either, feels like a dead spot, boost was at 9PSI, this happens on occasion and leads to me being walked by such cars as this Cayman, and perhaps the same thing that happened to the 335i a while back....

I know you're probably tired of me saying this, and I'm not trying to give you a hard time, but: Have you installed your wideband yet? It will tell you immediately if the map is going weird, and is in my opinion as important as a boost gauge. If the WB goes to far clockwise, you lift and the motor is spared.

That doesn't really seem like the car was running too lean, if it just stopped pulling hard. You would think it would pull harder if it got too lean, because it would have more power, than the motor could be in danger. I have a wideband and am constantly looking at it, especially until it is tuned and broken in good. Does the car run lean when the MAP goes bad? I would also love to see a link to the Greddy MAP sensor as well.

Dang it, the prices for these pressure sensors are through the roof! I guess I was lucky to get one at half the price.

Anyway, here's an option:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Parts-Acces...d=p4506.c0.m245

NOTE: I have absolutely no financial or monetary interest in sales of the abovementioned product(s).

It comes with a little box that a vacuum tube attaches to, from the manifold. That box has a 3-wire plug: +5V, -5v, and MAP signal (0-5V). It's the same voltage to the Emanage, just jump that wire to the pin on the yellow E-manage connector, and viola, you got your "Not-so-Greddy" air pressure sensor, and at half the price, to boot.

In other words, the little digital pressure sensor that comes with that gauge
is mounted in the engine bay, and has a 3 wires going to the gauge. You tee off of the signal wire, and hook it up to the Emanage MAP signal pin on the yellow 3-wire connector.

I got one of these gauges, but didn't need to do that, as I've already purchased a Greddy pressure sensor.
I got one, but sin
