Default Mase manifold cracked

This post is going to be about my experience with Mase and his turbo manifold. Mase's turbo manifold is advertised as having a lifetime warrantee against cracking. I bought his manifold from a member here on s2ki with a small crack already. I contacted mase about the cracked manifold and he said just to send it to him and he would fix it at no cost. I sent the manifold back and he took about 1 month to fix it. The crack was on the number 1 runner so he just cut out the whole number 1 runner from the head flange to the collector and welded a new part of the runner attached to a new section welded to a new part of the head flange. As soon as I installed it There was a HUGE exhaust leak coming from the head flange becauge the head flange was now not straight and with in 100 miles all the parts where was rewelded was cracked again. I called Mase and told him about this. He told me to take the manifold to get fixed locally and that he would pay for it. I took the manifold to golden eagle machine shop here in socal and they rewelded the crack and milled the head flange so it was flat for $200. I called Mase and send him many emails. He is impossible to reach and has not got back to me. Golden eagles new welds only lasted about another 100 miles.

Mase has stopped production of his turbo kit and manifold many many years ago and has also stoped all support for his turbo manifold. Because of this I was forced to fine a new turbo man

as you can see mase cut off the number 1 runner including the actuall head flange and welded a new one

Sorry to hear that. I can only imagine how PO'ed you must be. Seems like Mase burned the bridge with the S2ki community. That's too bad because I used to hear good things about him back in the day.

Is there a reason it seems all turbo manifolds at one point will crack? Even my inline pro cast iron log manifold cracked with a small gt30 turbo.

Mase is a sham. He can't tune worth a darn either. He "tuned" my Emanage several years back, and it consisted of increasing the timing by 1 degree everywhere.

join the club. if i could do it all over again from what I learned about all these manis,
i would've gone with a full race sidewinder twin scroll setup.

mase's manifold issues is one of the main reasons i went back to stock.
once it cracks, you're pretty much f@#ked from there. it just becomes band aid jobs that barely last after that.

and fyi, my entire mase manifold cost 200$ to fix since there were soooo many cracks, but mase only covered me for 65$.
I would've sent it to him but we all know he takes forever to get a hold of and I wasn't ready to anticipate that wait for him,
so its a lose-lose between time or money lost every time. I never had a problem with mase at a personal level- he was always a good guy;
but business wise, he went from good to poor very quick

There are so many better setups out there now, and mase moved on to bigger fish in the racing scene anyway.

sorry to hear about your issues

everyone eventually, yes, except for full race's sidewinder manifold if I'm not mistaken.
I have yet to hear one case where that mani has cracked (correct me if im wrong).
but mase's mani definitely cracks at a sooner rate than all the other manis according to the individual reports
